Council tries to buy volcano land

  Fears have been expressed that a spectacular volcano on La Palma is being deteriorated because of tourism interest. The Mayor of Fuencaliente, Gregorio Alonso said they didn’t want to stop people seeing Teneguia but there was no control over the 40,000 to 50,000 people who  visited it every year.
