Adeje Council condemns the organised fight on one of the borough’s beaches yesterday

Authorities say that obeying the current regulations regarding Covid-19 is fundamental if we wish to overcome this health crisis

Adeje council has condemned the actions that took place yesterday,
Saturday, on one of the borough’s beaches, when a number of youths staged a
boxing match (with gloves), cheered on by a large group who were not respecting
the social distancing, nor other health norms in place to restrict further
spread of Covid 19.

The council reminds the public that the island is currently in Phase 3
with a high Covid-19 infection rate affecting the borough. The council is
working hard to keep people informed regarding current health norms in place,
to stem any advance of infections. Given that the main business of the borough
is tourism the reactivation of that industry is vital and we must protect the
borough and the image we project abroad. The council is calling on everyone in
Adeje to behave with responsibility adding that only if we work together will
we emerge from this crisis

While the
council is aware that the boxing bout that took place yesterday was an isolated
event they repeat the call for all to take responsibility and avoid this kind of
events and behaviour. The council also states that it condemns any kind of
violence.
