Online gospel concert on December 19th
Gospel Canarias Fest is offering an online concert “A Voices and Signs” on December 19th.
The group Naturally is teaming up with the artist Ithaisa
Dubois to merge music with sign language in a unique show that will take place
from the ex-Santo Domingo convent in La Laguna at 7pm. and that can be followed
through the following link: https://m.facebook.com/Cultura-La-Laguna-108372534017975/
This event represents a perfect equation between good gospel
music and a firm commitment to accessibility and inclusion, fundamental aspects
in Dubois’s artistic career. A mixture of concepts that results in a
high-profile concert included in the Gospel Canarias Fest programming, which
will not leave the audience indifferent.
Naturally is one of the leading groups of this musical style
in the Canary Islands and was created in 2017 on the island of Tenerife by
Ezequiel Barrios, with the aim of disseminating and deepening gospel music. It
is made up of six singers and four musicians, the director completing the cast.
To date, Naturally has visited numerous island stages and festivals presenting
the show @Reliving, a tribute to Whitney Houston, as well as their recent
Legacy premiere, where they commemorated artists influenced by this
ecclesiastical musical genre.
For her part, Ithaisa Dubois is a visual artist, versatile
and committed to accessibility. Sign language interpreter, PE teacher, dancer,
sociocultural monitor and university expert in Body Expression, Dubois is the
creator of Dansign, a fusion between dance and sign language that allows rhythm
to be visual.
This show is sponsored by the Government of the Canary
Islands, the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Autonomous Organism of Musical
Activities of La Laguna, and produced by Xenox Producciones.
