Granadilla to spend over a million on beach security 

Granadilla de Abona council is currently in the last phase of the procedure for awarding the lifeguard and beach rescue service in the municipality, the financial amount of which exceeds a million euros.Security councillor, María Candelaria Rodríguez said the process is currently in its final period, with the cost of adjudication, for a period of three years, of a total of 1,129,920 euros. 

The team will be made up of a total of nine lifeguards and a beach manager, who will work for the safety and enjoyment of the many bathers who come during the summer period and the rest of the year to the beaches of the municipality.The service includes the surveillance of the bathing areas in order to attend to any incident that occurs, search, rescue, evacuation of victims from the aquatic environment, in addition to informing and advising citizens on possible risks derived from bathing.
