Tourism leaders optimistic for new era for Puerto de la Cruz
Puerto de la Cruz has met with with representatives of city travel agencies.
On Wednesday, a dozen businessmen from travel agencies in
Puerto de la Cruz participated in the telematic meeting called by the Tourism
department led by councillor Carolina Rodríguez. Together with the Mayor and
the councillor for commerce, the main challenges facing the sector in the face
of this unprecedented situation that is experienced throughout the world and that
uniquely affects the world of travel were put on the table.
This meeting belongs to the first round that the council has
been carrying out with all the groups that are closest and best aware of the
reality facing tourism in the city. However, the attendees wanted to highlight
the opportunities that are opening for a destination that is a pioneer in
tourism, in addition to learning first-hand about the actions that the local
government is undertaking not only to alleviate the crisis, but also to relaunch
Puerto de la Cruz in the insular, regional and national markets.
Despite the extreme difficulty presented by the outlook,
especially for the tourism sector, the meeting participants were optimistic for
a destination that has a uniqueness and identity that are presented as solid
pillars for a faster recovery.
