Street markets restart in El Medano and Granadilla
Granadilla council has announced that the ‘Street Market’ is starting its activity again in the Plaza de El Médano , on Wednesday May 20, and in the Plaza Ramón y Cajal in Granadilla centre, on Thursday May 21, in its usual morning hours.
Councillor for the primary sector, Yanira González said this
initiative to sell products from the local garden, outside the facilities of
the Farmer’s Market itself, is proceeding to start up again, as it had been
developing regularly before the state of alarm.
“It is time to support nearby trade and above all
to bet on the primary sector, which provides us with a wide variety of fresh
products that our farmers grow in the municipality, and that they offer us
directly from the fields to our tables and homes, ” she said.
The reopening is being done with all the established
sanitary and security conditions, such as fencing and access control, as well
as the need to maintain the corresponding distance between sellers and
customers. At the same time, the manipulation of the merchandise by the users
is prohibited, and the use of the disinfectant gel will be established as a
mandatory measure by the people who access the premises to buy.
Both the Farmer’s Market, in San Isidro, and the Fish Market
of Los Abrigos continue to carry out their commercial activity. The Market
opens every weekend from 8pm to 2pm respecting all safety and hygiene measures
and carrying out a disinfection process, as established by the municipal decree
of March 14. La Lonja fish market continues with its usual schedule from
Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 2pm, also carrying out home deliveries.
