Getting the beaches ready for phase 3 opening

Arona council has carried out conditioning works in some of the main beaches of the municipality, such as cleaning, screening and disinfecting the sand, in addition to subjecting the areas enabled for sports practice to the water quality analysis in the sea, anticipating the  go-ahead for full opening.

Until the so-called phase III of the de-escalation, it is
not foreseen that natural spaces such as beaches will be accessible. It will be
the State Government that determines it and sets the security conditions to put
it into operation. However, Arona council is already working on preparing for
its arrival, with actions in different parts of the coast, the last of which
took place days ago. Specifically, on Las Vistas beach, the main beach in the
municipality, where intense activity has taken place.

The public services of Arona council have used different
vehicles to remove the sand and proceed with its intensive cleaning, proceeding
with its oxygenation and screening, a task that involves disinfecting the
space.

In addition, the sand layer has been homogenised, after the
currents have displaced the latter in recent weeks, which has accumulated in
certain areas of the beach.

Beyond updating the beaches, the Public Services area has
submitted water quality analysis to those spaces that in the last week have
been equipped for sports activities in the water, such as swimming or surfing ,
among other.

Specifically, these have been held in Las Galletas, as well
as on Los Cristianos beach, both on the right and left side. The results show
excellent sea quality, with strict compliance with all parameters.

In this way, Arona anticipates that the Government of the
Canary Islands will resume conducting this type of examination in the coming
weeks.

The Mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, has underlined “the
enormous work being done by workers in municipal public services in different
areas.
