Man sent to prison for ignoring confinement rules
A man from Santa Cruz has been sent to prison for six months for continuously breaching the State of Emergency confinement rules and the pushing a police officer when told to go home.
He was dealt with at a speedy trial and had his sentence reduced from more severity after admitting the facts.
The man had been spotted about five kilometers from his usual home, having taken to the streets “without any reason ”. He was with another individual and neither were respecting the two metre distance rule. Both ran off when they saw the police.
Later, officers saw him on two other occasions and he again ignored their warning to go home, at one stage pushing a police offier before trying to run away.
