Explore Santa Cruz with heritage routes
Santa Cruz has been marking International Heritage Day with a conference and routes through the municipality.
Events will take place up to and including December with experts joining together to highlight all the cultural attractions of the city.
Councillor in charge, Matilde Zambudio said cultural heritage “helps create a sense of identity and responsibility that makes us feel like members of a community and contribute to social cohesion”.
Seven cultural routes have been arranged with themes directly related to the intangible cultural heritage of the municipality, with an intro-duction to the city’s architec-tural heritage , the particular traditions that are preserved in Taganana, the religious heritage of the municipality through stories and anecdotes, the Gesta of July 25, the flora, fauna and customs of the Anaga massif, the modern architec-ture of the city and finally a walk through the Municipal Museum of Fine Arts.
The routes started on November 16th and continue until December 7. The list of detailed routes, their dates and the registration forms can be consulted and filled out on the official website of the City Council (www.santacruz-detenerife.es), Services section, Historical and Cultural Heritage
