Solved at last, leaking roofs at sports centres!
Arona is to renew the roofs of the sports complex Jesús Domínguez Grillo and Las Galletas.
The Mayor, José Julián Mena, accompanied by the councillors of department of works and sports, visited the Los Cristianos sports hall, whose tendering and awarding process for the roof repair works will culminate in the next weeks so that work can begin after years of leaks and rainwater filtration.
Both Jesús Domínguez Grillo and the Las Galletas sports pavilion have suffered for years from various deficiencies in the roofs, which have caused leaks and rainwater filtration, a situation that will be solved with repair work.
With the first to be awarded shortly, in the second case, the drafting of the repair project will soon be put out to tender, which will allow the process of bidding of the works to begin in the coming months.
All this is framed in the process of modernisation and creation of new sports infrastructures, which in recent years has led to the construction of the San Lorenzo Valley pavilion, the replacement of artificial lawns, the installation of new stands and the project of renovation of different soccer fields.
The repair works of the roof of Jesús Domínguez Grillo have a budget of 85,000 euros and a period of execution of two months and will consist of the disassembly of the roof for the placement of a new sheet, cleaning and repair of the structure.
