HQ at last for Tenerife Association for Rheumatic Illnesses
The Tenerife Association for Rheumatic Illnesses has finally welcomed new headquarters in Santa Cruz.
The Mayoress, Patricia Hernández attended the official opening of the ASTER offices in the district of Tío Pino.
She welcomed the asso-ciation to the city following two years without headquarters and recalled that the council’s goal is to develop new policies for the prevention and promotion of autonomy with resources in all capital districts.
Upon arrival, she was received by the board of directors of ASTER, headed by Mrs. Maite Núñez, as well as by the director of the Dinosol Foundation, Virginia Ávila, and representatives of Banco Santander who have collaborated crucially in this project.
Patricia Hernández pledged her commitment to send specific multifunctional resources of a sport and therapeutic nature to all districts of Santa Cruz.
“We have called them Life Clubs and what it is about is that each resident has a meeting point near their home where they can exercise, take care or recover their health and also interact with the rest of the people,” she explained.
The municipal councillor welcomed ASTER after having spent two years outside of Santa Cruz de Tenerife – after the closure of its previous premises – and highly valued its support for the sick and rheumatic patients of Santa Cruz.
She also thanked the DinoSol Foundation for its work in finding and putting at the service of this association a place where all its services can be provided, as well as the Santander Bank for economic support through its corporate social responsibility. She regretted that more pubic institutions did not get involved “in these types of issues that directly result in a better quality of life for citizens. ”
