Burglars tied up house owner with ropes
Two men have been arrested for violent robberies in Lanzarote after they broke into the same home twice and tied up the owner before assaulting him.
One of the pair arrested is Spanish and the other of foreign nationality, both 19 years of age.
They face prosecution for robbery with violence, two crimes of illegal detention and two crimes of injury.
The men are said to have twicee accessed the house of the victim in the town of Tahiche and after assaulting him, tied his hands with a rope before stealing a mobile and cash on the first occasion and then his keys on the second.
The men were arrested in Arrecife and Arrieta.
When police raided their homes, they found items used in the crimes such as masks, balaclavas, ropes, a saw and a simulated shotgun. A stolen watch and phone were also recovered.
