Bigger costumes for Puerto Carnival 2020
The 2020 Carnival of Puerto de la Cruz is taking shape. Councillor for festivities Alberto Castilla met with different designers to study some changes in the rules of the carnival competitions that concern them.
This meeting has also served to assess the results of the election of the King of Carnival and unanimously agree next February to:
Increase the size of carnival costumes by half a metre, both for children and adults, therefore for children, 3.00 meters wide x 3.00 high x 3.00 deep and for adults, 3.50 metres wide x 4.00 high x 4.00 deep.
Allow the children to present themselves to the contest that until now has chosen the children’s queen of the carnival and that from now on will be called the children’s throne of the carnival. In the same way and also unanimously, it was agreed to grant the power of representative of the designers to Alfonso Baute in the first place and to Jorán Torres as substitute. This role will serve to mediate between the group and the institution in the successive meetings in which it is not necessary to have the bulk of the group in person.
