Nautical success as club wins battery recycling award
The School of Water Sports at Guia de Isora has won a major prize in the Ponte Pilas campaign.
The municipal school has been one of the three winners in Spain for the number of batteries collected in the Ecomar Foundation contest.
The entire team of the Municipal School of Nautical Sports and the Club of Nautical Activities of Tenerife are in luck after getting this prize whose reward is translated into 25 life jackets that will become part of the school kit.
”We are very happy because we have contributed our grain of sand to raise awareness about how important it is to protect our coast and our seabed, properly recycling a material such as batteries, highly polluting,” says Ale-jandro Cabrera, director of the Sailing School.
The Department of Sports and Environment support this and other campaigns such as the one that will take place on November 23rd on San Juan Beach, with a coastal cleaning in which volunteers from the peninsula will also participate thanks to the Ecomar Foundation.
