Women’s football club flies the flag for Granadilla
UDG Tenerife, the Spanish women’s football club based in Granadilla de Abona, has been presenting the visible rewards of all its hard work.
The Teresa Herrera trophy has been temporarily assigned to the local council by the squad following their success on the mainland.
The acting mayor and first deputy mayor, Marcos González and the councillor for tourism, Eudita Mendoza received three of the team’s captains, Cindy García, Patri Gavira and Eva Llamas, in the municipal offices.
Marcos González extended the congratulations of alll for the victory, as well as for the recent triumpg in the Egalité Cup against Levante. In addition, he highlighted the commitment of the council with this team that reaps one triumph after another, inform-ing them of the La Hoya del Pozo football field project, in El Médano, where more than 400,000 euros are being invested in general improve-ments, as well as the next tender of the new lawn, together with the Cabildo de Tenerife.
Eudita Mendoza highlighted the important role that this sports team performs not only in sports, but tourism, making known the name of the municipality at each point of the national geography where they will compete.
