Man arrested for series of Arona burglaries

National Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of carrying out seven robberies in holiday homes and establishments in Arona.

The investigation began after a Belgian citizen on holiday in Tenerife reported a burglary.
The culprit had forced a window whilst she was out and stole different effects that were inside; jewellery, mobile phone devices, image and sound equipment, 150 euros in cash and credit cards.
The burglary presented similar characteristics to others carried out in Arona, both in holiday homes and businesses.
In all cases, the items stolen were jewels, technology devices and cash. In one of the businesses, the value of the stolen computer terminal and the tablet exceeded 2000 euros, apart from the damage caused .
Police said the man arrested has a police record and managed to evade them for some time because he lacked a fixed address and frequently changed the place where he spent the night .
