Wanted! Fabulous photos of nature to show in Tenerife museum
Museums of Tenerife has opened the deadline for nature photographers, professionals and amateurs, who wish to participate in the sixth edition of #NaturaJazz, held at the Museum of Nature and Archeology, every Thursday from the months of October and November.
It is an event that combines the projection of images of nature with the melodies of the best jazz bands. This edition has, once again, the official section, a popular call and different parallel activities. Entries may be submitted until September 30th at www.museostenerife.org.
With the #NaturaJazz Festival, Tenerife Museums seeks out the best nature photographers in all its aspects. A total of 12 projects will be selected, which will be distributed based on the following geographical classification: six projects in the ‘Canary’ category (two submarine and four terrestrials), and six projects in the ‘rest of the world’ category (two in water and four terrestrial). The projects submitted must be made up of unpublished works, property of the author and that have not been awarded in other competitions or photographic events.
The selected projects will be exhibited during the celebration of the different sessions of #Naturajazz and will receive an economic endowment of 500 euros for the acquisition of two of the images of the submitted project, which will become part of the Museum’s funds. Similarly, 1,000 euros will be given to the best photographer in exchange for four photographs.
There is also an opportunity for those who do not participate in the official call, but who are interested in showing some of their images of nature (maximum five), and that by quality and relevance, are attractive. Voting will be online and can be carried out by anyone. Those interested can consult the rules, upload the images and vote on the event’s website. The deadline for uploading photos and voting is until November 14, 2019.
As for parallel activities, this new edition will reintroduce children to nature photography and jazz music. In addition, for those adults who want to get closer to the world of nature and travel photography to know their ins and outs and en-courage themselves to photograph the rich biodiversity of our islands, professional photographer Oliver Yanes will teach a three-day initiation course. Two field trips are incorporated into the programme to take nature photographs in which attendees will share photography techni-ques and tricks.
