TEA invites entries for reading and writing projects
TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes will host on September 27th and 28th the fourth edition of the Festival Índice.
This year, one of the new features is the creation of a contest aimed at generating ideas for the promotion of reading (all details on www.festivalindice.es).
With this event, the Cabildo de Tenerife, as organisers, intend to promote innovative projects or ideas to encourage the reading habits of specific groups within the educational field.
Any person resident in Tenerife can apply for the contest, whose deadline for submitting proposals will end on September 10h. A jury, composed of specialists in education, youth and animation for reading, will judge the work, influencing, among other aspects, the potential of the proposed idea, the interest it may generate in the group to which it is addressed, the originality, its innovative character, as well as its ability to execute. Of all the works presented, a pre-selection of five will be carried out, to whom prior training will be offered to guide the projects and prepare their presentation.
Also, coinciding with the celebration of the Festival, the five finalists will present their proposal on September 28th at TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, where the winner will be chosen. They will have a budget of 5,000 euros to execute the project in a term of eight months.
This year, the meeting between publishers and novel writers of Tenerife will be held again. This advocates creating a space that grants visibility and reinforces the work of young creators, while supporting the publication of literary pieces by new authors.
Those interested can participate in the categories of novel, poetry and illustrated story.
The deadline for admission of the works will end on September 10th or once 100 projects are received. Among the proposals received, 20 will be chosen to access a specific training session to participate in the meeting with publishers.
Those selected can present their work in a maximum of half an hour in the meeting with the editors, which will take place on September 27th. The editors will be able to choose four works, which will be published by the Cabildo de Tenerife and join the Index Collection, which already has eleven titles, the result of the meetings held in the last three editions.
