Solidarity flavour for successful Esperanza race
As part of the festivities in honour of Our Lady of La Esperanza, the VI Popular Race proved another great success in El Sauzal, attracting a total of 164 runners.
As happened last year, when, in addition, he broke the test record, Ayoze Pérez (Trivalle Güímar) took the victory with a 20’20 ’time; followed, in second position, by Jairo Paule, also from Trivalle Güímar (20’29 ’) and independent David Medina (20’44’).
In the women’s category, CCT Santa Cruz athlete Patricia Domínguez (24’33 ’) won the test; followed by the young Estefanía Sánchez (who was third last year) of the Vallivana CD (25’01 ’); with, in third position, Alicia Manzanaque (Toletole) with a time of 25’11 ’. The three, in addition, were the first of their respective categories: Senior, Sub-23 and F-35.
At the end of the main test, the children’s category saw about 30 enrolled in the different modalities, who obtained their Finisher medal. The delivery of medals was made by the Mayor of El Rosario, Scholastic Gil, the councillors for sports and fiesta, Juan Jesús del Rosario and Yeray Gutiérrez respectively, together with members of the Festival Committee.
The test once again had the invaluable collaboration of Conchip Canarias in the timing tasks and had a solidarity character, with part of the collection of the registration being assigned to the Asperger Association of the Canary Islands.
