Lanzarote expects French boost with new Bordeaux flight
Lanzarote is expecting an influx of French visitors as a result of a new easyJet route that links the island with Bordeaux.
The low-cost airline will be operating the service until October.
Tourism councillor for Lanzarote Cabildo, Ángel Vázquez highlighted the importance of this new connection because “French tourism is one of our main bets in the strategy of market diversification.”
The Foreign Promotion Society of Lanzarote (SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote), in collaboration with easyJet and Bordeaux Airport, recently presented in the event room Chantier Nicolas, located on the banks of the Garonne River, the benefits of the island as a destination.
The presentation, made to a score of influencers of the French tourism sector, joins the reception held in June at the César Manrique Lanzarote Airport to passengers on the first flight of the route that has two weekly frequencies-Monday and Thursday- with departures at 4pm in Bordeaux and at 7pm in Lanzarote.
Ángel Vázquez said they valued the French tourist because of their high spending capacity but also because they appreciated the sustainability model followed on the island, enjoyed the gastronomy and participated in numerous tourist-sports activities that Lanzarote offers.
