Guía de Isora plans cancer support parade
Guia de Isora has pledged its continued support for the cancer association, AMATE.
Councillor for equality, Ángeles González recently met with representatives of the southern delegation. The service offered by the association focuses on attention to women who suffer or have suffered some type of cancer, mainly breast cancer, as well as their families.
Physiotherapy, psychological and psychosocial care and leisure activities and leisure time are some of the services offered at the cultural centre of Playa San Juan.
“The council considers it essential to serve the people who are going through this process and will continue our collaboration, ”said the councillor who revealed that work is already underway on a new event: a parade to raise funds for the association.
“This type of beneficial event is already taking place in other areas of the island with very good acceptance and we want to join the initiative. The former mayor and now president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, made the commitment to have the parade in Guía de Isora and we will have the collaboration of women’s associations from the municipality.”
