Excitement as new soccer school opens in La Perdoma

The Mayor of La Orotava, Francisco Linares, and delegate sports councillor, Antonio Lima, received Julio Durán, former professional soccer player, coach and director of the EFT, and Ricardo León, former player of CD Tenerife.

Both presented to the municipal representatives the interesting educational and sports project that will be developed in the municipality from next October 2.
The Fundación Tenerife CD Tenerife Training and Techni-fication School (EFT) has chosen the Antonio Hernández de La Perdoma field, in the neighbourhood of the same name, as its headquarters for the entire northern area.
The school will be open to boys and girls, between 4 and 15 years old, from all over the northern side. The activity will take place every Wednesday between the months of October to June, and work groups will be created adapted to each age and level. These groups will not exceed the eleven components so that the attention of the coaches is the most appropriate.
Mayor Francisco Linares expressed delight that CD Tenerife has chosen La Orotava in this part of the island as an ideal point to launch this pioneering project.
Antonio Lima added that the facilities chosen are ideal and of quality, as well as accessible, to host this school of technification. The Antonio Hernández de La Perdoma field has two courts, one of eleven football and another of seven football, both of artificial turf. This field is known in the field of island football, and has already been used by the Tenerife CD Foundation in fixtures included in the + Base project. On the other hand, he appreciated that the activity will be a complement to the work that players do on their own teams, but it is also aimed at children who want to have their first contact with football.
The representatives of CD Tenerife thanked and appreciated the predisposition of the council of La Orotava with this initiative and with any activity aimed at supporting base sport. They also indicated that the inscriptions for this first edition are going well and that they can be formalised by completing the form available on the clubdeportivoeten-erife.es website, in addition to the Twitter profile of the foundation itself and the representative club. The deadline for receiving appli-cations is open throughout the month of August.
Under the philosophy and methodology of the BAS + BASE ’project and the CD Tenerife base football, training will be carried out once a week (Wednesday) with an hour and a quarter duration. All players will be given an official kit of the Canary CD Tenerife Foundation of the official brand of the club HUMMEL, including a shirt kit, shorts and socks, as well as a sweatshirt, a raincoat and a backpack sporty.
The former player of CD Tenerife, Sporting de Gijón and UD Orotava, Ricardo León, will be the coordinator of the School of the CDT Foundation at its headquarters in La Perdoma.
