Date announced for Tenerife Bluetrail 2020

The Fred Olsen Tenerife Bluetrail 2020 will be held on June 6th

The challenge, organised by Tenerife Cabildo, will celebrate its tenth anniversary. It will be a scoring event for the Mont Blanc Ultra Trail (UT-MB), the most prestigious test in the world.

The Tenerife event will again have points awarded by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) in all its modalities that are valid for the UTMB. Thus, the Ultra version (102 km) will have 5 points, while the Trail (67 km) 3 points, the Marathon (43 km) 2 points and the Media (20 km) 1 point.
The vice president of the Cabildo, Efraín Medina, points out that “it is important that the race scores internationally because it attracts runners from all over the world. It is an added incentive for athletes, who can enjoy a unique race with Teide as a great attraction.”
The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) technicians certified this year’s edition of the Fred Olsen Tenerife Bluetrail in each of the modalities. Thus, the Ultra has 102 km and 6,784 metres of height, while the Trail has 67 km and a positive height difference of 3,246 metres. On the other hand, the Marathon has a distance of 43 km and 2,341 meters of height gain, while the Ultra offers 19.3 km and 1,242 meters of positive height gain.
