Cabildo replaces yet another soccer surface
Tenerife Cabildo and El Sauzal council will invest some 356,000 euros in the replacement works of the artificial turf of the Las Breñas football field.
The project has been awarded to the company Obras y Pavimentos Especiales S.A. The investment is financed in equal parts by both administrations and is part of the Tenerife + Verde programme of the Tenerife 2030 strategy and the Insular Development Strategic Framework (MEDI).
Cabildo president, Carlos Alonso points out the effort made to improve the grass of such facilities “with a total investment of 5 million euros in the period 2017-2021, of which half is contributed by the Sports area. The actions are carried out in a consensual manner with the municipalities and the objective is that users can enjoy an installation with state-of-the-art artificial grass approved by FIFA.”
The Tenerife + Verde Plus programme of the Cabildo takes place in the period 2017-2021 and represents a contribution of 2.5 million euros from the Island Corporation, in such a way that artificial turf change of 25 fields can be undertaken during these five years. The initiative is part of the Tenerife 2030 strategy of the Cabildo to promote healthy living habits and improve the capabilities of young people on the island.
