The contest of regional scope, organised by the Department of Youth whose head is Raquel Morales Izquierdo, is scheduled to be held on the second weekend of August, starting at 9pm in the square of the coastal core of El Médano.
Those people who are residents of the Canary Islands will be able to participate; must be aged between 14 and 30 and be amateur artists, excluding those who have a record in the market or dedicate them-selves professionally to the category they choose.
Participation is free. For more information, please contact the Youth Department or call 922 759 959. Prizes will be distributed in the first, second and third place of each of the categories.
Raquel Morales encourages all those Canarian artists to seek an opportunity in the world of music, as this festival has served as a launching pad for many young people who have participated in past editions.
“There has already been twelve editions of this contest whose purpose has always been to promote in young people the development of musical skills as an instrument of personal and academic formation, as well as to stimulate the creativity and effort of new artists, creating a cultural exchange between composers and interpreters,” she said.
