MUMES once again shows Arona’s cultural diversity

Ghana, the West African country with 24 million inhabitants, is the protagonist of the 16th edition of the Music Festival Mestizas and +, MUMES 2019.

Arona is the official headquarters of this initia-tive, a municipality where more than 150 nationalities coexist.
The programming of this 2019 event is complemen-ted, along with the presence of the culture of this African country, with more music, makeup and body painting of African tribes, cinema reflecting cultural diversity and a photographic ex-hibition about Morocco, as well as the delivery of a new edition of its award for work in favor of multiculturalism.
This project continues with the objective promised in 2003; to promote tole-rance through knowledge of the cultural expressions of different peoples.

Arona council co-organises MUMES 2019 with the sponsorship of the Government of the Canary Islands (Canarias Cultura en Red), Cabildo Insular de Tenerife (Tenerife 2030) and the CajaCanarias Founda-tion, as well as with the collaboration of Casa África and TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, among other institutions and official bodies.
