Get involved with sport this summer, says Arona council
Arona is offering a summer of sporting activities aimed at all age groups from the youngest to adults and the elderly. The local council, through its sports department, wants to give everyone the chance to occupy their leisure time in the best way possible.
July sees the start of swimming courses, swimming for babies, polidivertido, padel tennis and golf. There will also be games on the beach, mini sailing courses, kayak and Paddle Sup, plus many other activities.
The activity of polidivertido, a mobile activity programme, has been very well received in previous years. That is why for this summer specialised monitors in leisure activities and sports will be distributed throughout the municipality, where children can enjoy an outdoor sports offer free of charge.
The hours of this activity are divided, according to the zone, in the morning, from 10am to noon or in the afternoon from 6pm to 8pm. Buzanada, San Lorenzo Valley, Las Galletas, Virgen del Carmen, Guaza, Las Rosas, Cabo Blanco, El Fraile, Guargacho, La Camella, Arona and Parque La Reina are the areas where this activity will take place until the end of the month of August.
Another activity that is in great demand are the activities of the sailing school, where mini week-long courses are offered, Paddle Sup, sailing and kayak. These activities are developed in the sailing school located on the beach of Los Cristianos and have as their objective the initiation and promotion of these activities, being able, once finished, to enroll in the annual courses of improvement.
The offer is completed with golf courses aimed at the whole family at the Los Palos Golf Centre, tennis courses, therapeutic swimming, aquatic fitness, physical activities for adults, adapted sports or Padel courses where those enrolled will begin in the basic technique of their chosen sport.
