Rambo wins hearts in Tenerife during blockbuster filming
Tough action guy Sylvester Stallone has been winning hearts in Tenerife as he films his latest blockbuster, supposedly set in Mexico.
The famous actor is showing his soft side with waves and smiles to fans who have been watching scenes unfold in various locations across the island, including El Rosario, Puerto de la Cruz and the capital, Santa Cruz where traffic changes are currently in force.
Stallone had always said “no” to a sequel to the Rocky series but finally changed his mind and agreed to star in “Rocky V”.
All the locations are thrilled at having been chosen as it means considerable revenue and publicity, together with work for associated services, extras, etc. The value to the island is put at millions.
The Mayor of Puerto de la Cruz, Lope Afonso said: “Hosting the filming of another feature is of great importance for the international promotion of the city as an enclave for cinematographic blockbusters of any kind”.
The filming of “Rambo V” in Santa Cruz involves a series of changes in traffic management into December The areas affected by this shoot will be the district of Cepsa, the upper part of Ifara, Somosierra, the slope of Taco belonging to the municipality of Santa Cruz, the lower area of La Salud and Barrio Nuevo.

The first deputy mayor and councillor for Citizen and Road Safety, Zaida González, said: “The important coordination work has been carried out with the heads of this film and the Traffic section, as well as with the Local Police and the Development Society itself, in order to facilitate everything possible for the work of the cinematographic teams, before and during the shooting, taking advantage of this magnificent opportunity for our city”.
The film is due for release next year.
