No new clues in search for Sara

Police have assured that the investigation into the disappearance of Gran Canaria youngster Sara Morales is still very much open.

It is now 12 years since the teenager disappeared but her family is still baffled about what happened to her.

She was just 14 when she left her home to go shopping in the La Ballena commercial centre in Las Palmas but was never seen again.

The investigation of this case is under the responsibility of the National Police .

Canary chief, José María Moreno confirmed it remained open but said “unfortunately right now” they did not have any new leads.

He pledged investigations like these never closed as there was always a chance a new clue would emerge which could help solve the mystery. However, that result at the moment was “impossible.”

Similarly, the investigation into the disappearance of Yeremi Vargas, who would this year have turned 19, is also open. He too disappeared from Gran Canaria 12 years ago. A link between the two cases has never been established.
