Suspected Brit paedophile was working as English teacher
Police have arrested a suspected paedophile, originally from Manches-ter, who was working as an English teacher in Spain.
The man had indecent images of his pupils on his computer and was so obsessed with one particular child that he compiled a special file, using the student’s Christian name as its title.
The investigation began when Interpol in Canada detected an email account which was sending out indecent images from somewhere in Spain through a cloud sharing site.
Spanish investigators were called in and discovered that the man was registered as living in Seville but no trace could be found of him.
They established that the man was British and came originally from Manchester.
His trail was followed through various parts of Spain and he was eventually traced to Valladolid where his home was raided.
“Police found a large number of sexually explicit files, including of minors,” said the spokesman. “Among the material found there were also a myriad of “erotic” images of his underage students. Analysis of the seized material showed a special interest towards one of them, with the suspect having a folder with the name of the child with a multitude of images with clear sexual connotations.”
The Brit is said to have shared the images with others via the internet and emails.
Police are now sifting through the images in a bid to identify the children involved. No ages have been released.
