Start of a happy new life for lucky Xavi
We always have so many sad cases of neglect and cruelty of dogs that come into the refuge on a daily basis but sometimes when there seems no hope for a dog to find a new home we constantly see a ray of hope and we find kind loving owners who adopt there chosen dog. One such dog who had spent the last 18 months in the refuge through no fault of his own, abandoned on the street by some uncaring person, has been very lucky and is now with his new owner.
Now named Xavi, he is a beautiful natured five year old rottweiler . He has been adopted by John Gildersleeves a retired police officer who has recently moved to the island.
John has always had a love of animals from an early age so has decided he now has the time and space to give this dog a special home.
Unfortunately Xavi is also epileptic so it’s very important he has his daily medication.
We wish them both much happiness together in the future.
We would like to remind anyone who is thinking of rescuing a classified dangerous breed that all licences and procedures need to be in place before the dog is allowed to leave our refuge.
Please do call the refuge on 922778630 if you can help in any way we are always in need of tinned dog food for our older dogs such as blankets, towels, sheets, dog toys, and collars and leads.
If you have any of the above to spare they would be very much appreciated at the refuge, or visit Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 14.00-17.00pm and Saturdays 13.00- 16.00.
