Tickets go on sale for La Orotava’s “Suena Festival” this September

La Orotava has given early notice of its 2017 “Suena” Festival.

The popular event is being held in September but tickets for the various concerts are already on sale.

This will be the fifth edition and organisers hope they have arranged a programme with wide appeal.

“The Villa looks forward to welcoming outstanding groups and artists of the national musical panorama, including three icons of Spanish pop,” said a spokesman.

Renowned singer-song-writer Mikel Erentxun will perform on Saturday, September 2nd and will also be on stage at Teobaldo Power La Union and Café Quijano, where he will perform on Saturdays September 16th and 30th respectively. All concerts will be in the aforementioned auditorium at 9pm.

Tickets, costing between ten and 18 euros, can be purchased now through the tomaticket.es platform, as well as in the shops Casa Valladares (in La Orotava and Santa Ursula) and all establishments in the Canaries of Carolina Boix shoes.

This festival is organised by Espectáculos Tenerife and has the collaboration of La Orotava council, the Canary Islands Government and Tenerife Cabildo.

Details were presented at the Hotel las Águilas by the Mayor Francisco Linares García and the representative of Producciones Espectáculos Tenerife, Mingo Rodríguez.

The mayor said the concerts would be exceptional, giving people the chance to enjoy the best of pop and music.

He said La Orotava was still a cultural reference in the north of Tenerife and a meeting point for leisure and enjoyment of local gastronomy.

Intense activity at the Teobaldo Power had boosted the local economy and led over the last three years to the opening of new restaurants and bars in the area. Any expenditure the council made there-fore in culture was considered not as an expense but an investment.

He also congratulated the organisers, Quique Ojeda and Mingo Rodríguez, for seeking the support needed to make this festival possible for everyone “because they can offer good concerts with affordable prices for different audiences.”

La Orotava Suena was an initiative and a novel project that began its first appearance in 2013, with the objective of supporting cultural projects.

Artists of the stature of Vanesa Martín, Miguel Poveda, Revolver, India Martínez. Merche, Los Secretos, Efecto Mariposa and David Demaría, among others, have participated in previous editions.
