Marine Park to host Carnival opening ceremony
The Marine Park will host the opening ceremony of the 2017 Carnival of Santa Cruz.
Friday January 27 is the date chosen to lift the curtain on the party, in its next edition dedicated to the Caribbean.
Councillor for Fiestas, Gladis de Leon, has already begun to prepare the first details of the show during a coordination meeting with the director of the Gala de la Reina, Enrique Camacho, in addition to the technical managers of the opening ceremony.
Sr. Camacho will be in charge of devising the script for this show, in which the order of participation of the candidates for Queen of Carnival in three categories (child, adult and older) will be presented.
The Santa Cruz Marine Park was designed by the artist César Manrique and is a leisure complex with swimming pools in 22,000 square metres.
Located between the Auditorium and the exhibition centre, this facility has abundant tropical vegetation and palm trees which is an ideal stage on which to develop the next Carnival opening ceremony, which will be dedicated to the Caribbean.
