La Palma’s pledge over heliport

The authorities on La Palma have pledged to do all they can to improve the heliport facilities at Los Llanos de Aridane on La Palma.

They say safety is paramount and it plays a vital role covering the entire Aridane valley and its strategic location next to the health centre.

The Ministry of Emergencies and Civil Participation of the Cabildo de La Palma, headed by Carmen Brito, has been directly involved in several activities aimed at improving the operation of the heliport located in the neighborhood of the Montaña Tenisca.

Carmen Brito, accompanied by the mayor of Los Llanos, Noelia Garcia, visited the facility recently with staff of the company that manages the rescue service in La Palma under the Canary Government’s Ministry of Security.

The professionals were therefore able to evaluate the technical requirements required by the heliport for improved operability.

The insular minister for emergencies stressed at the start of the meeting the commitment of the three authorities to make improvements to the heliport a priority.
