All Saints church news
Many visitors to Tenerife are surprised to find an English style church in the picturesque Parque Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz. Although our worship is authentically Anglican we welcome all Christians to our Altar rail. Our last Car Boot until February 6th was held at the beginning of December and was a wonderful start to the Christmas Festivities, enjoyed by all who took part . Christmas is the major part of the church’s calendar, and we are now in the season of Advent when we commemorate the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately due to the continuing work on the church electrics All Saints church remains closed until sometime in late January, which means unfortunately that this year we have had to cancel our traditional Carol Concert. Our Services are being held in the Parsonage behind the church. Our regular Services are held as normal on Wednesdays and Sundays with the times the same as listed below for our Xmas Services.
Our Services for the Christmas season are as follows
Wednesday December 23rd— Service of Holy Communion at 10am
Thursday December 24th Christmas Eve — Midnight Mass starting at 11.30pm
Friday December 25th Christmas Day— Service of Holy Communion at 11am
Sunday December27th— Traditional Service , Book of Common Prayer 9.30am
Sunday December27th-. Sung Eucharist 11am.
The Gospel Choir meets every Thursday night in the Parsonage from 8pm-10pm. Further details available from Rayco 699649454
There will also be a Bible Study Course running every Wednesday after the 10am Service of Holy Communion the theme being Making Room up to and including December 23rd. These will be led by the Reverend Ian Eglin.
All Saints Church will be holding its traditional Epiphany Brunch on January 10th at Restaurant Monasterio, at 1am after the Sunday Service ,please see Caroline Kirkham after the 11am Sunday Services or phone 922381981 for more details.
As there is no Car Boot in January as these do not start again until February 6th, we at All Saints have decided to hold a Jumble Sale on Saturday January 16th at 11am in the Church grounds. This is for church stalls only, so we can have a good clear out before the start of the Car Boot Season. There will be ridiculous prices so come along and have a browse., especially if you are one for a bargain.
As All Saints Church is currently in an Interregnum our Locum Priest until February 1st is Reverend Ian Eglin. Reverend Ian and his wife Caroline have been with us at All Saints before and we are happy to welcome them both back with us once again Reve-rend Ian can be reached by phoning the Parsonage on 922384038 or please note new mobile number 609-559755.
