Tegueste to stage first “El Infierno” mountain race
Tegueste will be furthering its ambition to become a pioneer in mountain racing when a fiesta event is held on Sunday, November 29th.
The first Carrera de Montaña “El Infierno” is part of the celebrations for the festivities of San Andrés.
The route will run through the zone of “El Infierno” and is organised by Club Nekes Trail and Tegueste council’s sports department.
The race has a distance of 9.8 kilometres, starts at 10am and passes through trails and vineyards.
There will be different categories for men and women ((Senior, M40, M50 and M60). Registration is through Deportes Salud, Lechutrail, TDC Tegueste, Naturesport and at the facilities of Cancha de Bolas. There is a limit on numbers so early registration is advised.
Tegueste council has organised a full safety plan involving the police, Civil Protection, Red Cross and volunteer firefighters.
Councillor for sport, Heliodoro Hernández Herrera said the municipality was becoming known for its mountain races and cross-country as well as solidarity events.
