Council bans paragliders from beach landings

Los Realejos has banned paragliders from landing on the popular beach of El Socorro up until September 30th.

The Mayor, Manuel Domínguez has made a municipal order so that bathers and sunbathers will not be inconvenienced this summer.

He said the council made every effort to guarantee the safety of beach users during such busy months and the presence of paragliders did not allow this. He appreciated the understanding of paragliders, he added.

The council has also pointed out that since April, they had provided a landing strip of artificial turf in the area of El Quinto which allowed the sport still to be carried out in the municipality.
