Adepac animal association invites you to solidarity lunch
Would you like to show solidarity with the plight of abandoned dogs in Tenerife?
The organisations which work towards helping these unfortunate animals include Adepac, which is the Association for the Defence and Protection of Animals in the Canaries.
On Sunday, May 10th from 1.30pm, the association is holding a solidarity lunch at La Pirámide in El Sauzal and it would be delighted to welcome as many people as possible. Not only will they contribute to fund-raising but also get to know the work of Adepac as well and the major challenges it faces.
The event consists of a lunch which costs 18 euros but there will performances, activities and prizes to be won for the whole family.
Lunch tickets are available from the town hall at El Sauzal and via Adepac, either through their facebook site of https://www.facebook.com/adepaccanarias or via email on email@example.com (please note, there is a vegan option available but as the deadline to order this wa May 3rd, you are please advised to check if still available).
The association has a refuge in El Sauzal and looks after hundreds of dogs. This is a huge challenge in terms of cost for upkeep, feeding, dailing cleaning, care etc and is compounded by the fact that the El Sauzal refuge is situated in an area where it can drop very cold so the dogs need special shelter and warmth.
There is a massive dependency on fund-raising to help with the very dire financial situation and lack of funding and with summer approaching, the traditional time for more abandonment of dogs, it is feared things will get worse.
As well as trying to find new homes for the abandoned dogs, Adepac aims to raise awareness about the terrible abuse and neglect of animals and to promote responsible dog ownership.
