Lovely Puerto de la Cruz

Dear Editor,

This year is the thirty fifth year in a row I have visited Tenerife and the lovely town of Puerto de la Cruz. I have seen many changes take place; like Plaza Europa, which was just a car park, now it’s a plaza in which to sit and is used daily by visitors. I like to sit watching the locals fishing and find them very welcoming, especially if you make an effort to speak a little Spanish. The Plaza always comes to life during Carnival, and then just walks on to the harbor, I could sit there all day, it is a hive of activity.

A little more walking takes you into Plaza del Charco surrounded by its bars, cafes and restaurants, I find it so interesting the lovely trees and palms, it’s a wonderful place to sit and watch the world go by.

Down at Playa Jardin, which I watched being built, with the lovely gardens above filled with Cactus, Palms and lovely flowers.

Puerto de la Cruz is truly a lovely place to visit, I love it and the lovely Canarian people who live here and make me feel so welcome each year. Thank you.
