Eyesore transformed into rest area
A popular area of Fuerteventura now has new facilities following a 84,000 euro facelift.
The Cabildo has restored an old restaurant building at the fishing village of El Puertito de Lobos to provide a rest area and viewing point.
The seating area is complimented by information panels about the Lobos footpath trail and includes recommendations about how to respect the environment.
There are also vending machines for food and drink and more details about whales.
The old restaurant building had been left derelict for decades and has suffered extensive deterioration. It has been completely refurbished and includes a viewing deck to admire the spectacular scenery.
