Enjoy a guided tour of Teatro Guimerá
If you love the theatre, you will enjoy a guided visit to the oldest one in the Canary Islands.
The Teatro Guimerá was built in Santa Cruz in 1849 and in 1923, was named after the writer, poet and playwright, Ángel Guimerá, who was born in the capital.
Architect Manuel de Oráa designed it in a classical-romance style and over the decades, it has undergone various renovations and improvements, the most recent of which were in 2010.
The theatre is near the Centro de Arte La Recova and is listed as a cultural asset. It still host a wide range of activities, including plays, conferences, films and events.
Guided visits have proved very popular over the last few months and the next dates are April 7th and May 7th. They start at 5pm and last an hour and a half; the cost is just three euros.
