La Laguna becomes a sea of pink
The streets of La Laguna turned pink as 2,000 people took part in the seventh edition of the Women’s Solidarity Race.
This was a record for the event, beating the 2014 turnout which was in itself a record of 1,850.
The race has attracted more participants year after year, being organised by the local council’s sports department and CEA Tenerife 1984.
The circuit was around the historic streets of Aguere, both starting and finishing at the Plaza del Cristo.
To show their own solidarity, three councillors also took part in the non-competitive race.
Entry money is being donated to Amate (Association of Women with Breast Cancer) and AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer).
