New hardy lamps for Las Galletas
Visitors to Las Galletas might notice a new glow about the town at night.
Arona Council has invested 158,000 euros in improving lighting, both along the Rambla and the maritime walk.
The Mayor, Francisco José Niño recently paid an inspection visit with the councillors for works and the environment, Ramón García and Antonio Sosa.
Along these two locations, a total of 58 lights have been installed with high pressure sodium fittings.
Sr. García said the lights replaced ones which were in a poor condition and these would last longer, bearing in mind the closeness to the sea.
They are also more energy efficiency, producing savings of around 3,000 euros a year.
