Plans to change the whole economic model of Lanzarote have swung into action.
An agreement has been signed to provide the island with its tenth wind turbine which will produce another 200,000 euros in gross income for the island. A new report shows Lanzarote grossed around 2.8 million euros from green energy projects in 2013.
The Cabildo has recently revealed it wants to press for self-sufficiency in terms of energy supply using the wind and ocean.
The new wind turbine will cost about 950,000 euros and should be installed during 2015.
