Worried about tactics
So, the authorities are cracking down on time-share touts, are they?
Perhaps in one sense but let’s face it, they still exist don’t they. We were once again accosted last week by a young chap on the street who have us a scratch card and then exclaimed in absolute delight because we had apparently “won one of the top prizes” and “weren’t we lucky; that only happens once in a blue moon.”
Ha! Yes, we are sure it does. What made us sad was the tactic then used. This nice young man literally pleaded with us to attend a presentation because if we didn’t, he wouldn’t get any commission and wouldn’t have any money to live off.
Because we have a son of around the same age and had time to spare, we decided we would go but to be honest, we never found out what it was all about as we got fed up and had to catch a bus back to our hotel. It was almost certainly some sort of time-share but branded under a different name.
We have decided not to put the location in case we got hold of the wrong end of the stick but the bit about what the young man told us is completely true.
We don’t really think this practice is doing Tenerife any good and apart from all that, just what do these young people really earn or not as the case may be? Who is taking advantage of who?
