Park appeal follows face-lifts
Granadilla council has asked residents and visitors to take care of leisure facilities following an urgent make-over of a local park.
The department of municipal services has improved the recreation zone of “Atguatxoña” at the entrance to the town.
The park is used by a lot of people but has suffered wear and tear over the years and was deemed to require emergency action. Damaged items have been repaired, the toilets reformed and painting carried out, as well as improvements to the picnic area. Work was carried out by the council’s own maintenance team to save money.
The Mayor, Jaime González Cejas recently paid a visit with councillor for the area, Juan Rodríguez Bello. They said the council was happy to respond to requests for the work but hopes people generally will be more aware of the need to look after leisure spaces to aid their conservation and maintenance.
