New market for Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz expects an old market to re-open in the Ofra-Costa Sur district in December.
Private bids are cu-rrently being invited to run “La Abejera” in a council-owned property for ten years at an annual fee of 7,200 euros or 600 euros a month.
There will be ten market stalls of which four should be a fish-monger, butcher, bakery and café-bar. The remaining units are optional, for food, churros etc.
Councillor for public works, Dámaso Arteaga said they were committed to creating a market with its own personality combining innovation with traditional trade. The emp-hasis would be on gastronomy and there would be tastings and special events in order to bring new life to the local economy.
Bids have been invited from companies, co-operatives or individuals.
