More walks for Las Vegas
Granadilla council wants to create a network of different walking routes around the old centre of Las Vegas.
The departments which look after the environment and artistic heritage, led by councillors Juan Rodríguez Bello and Jacob Donate González, are combining for an ambitious project which should receive European funding. The council has already pledged 20,000 euros.
Las Vegas is hosting various environmental and tourism projects, such as stargazing but is also keen to attract walkers. Various routes have recently been restored, including Las Vegas-La Higuera-Los Hibrones-Las Vegas.
It is planned to capitalise on these projects so the municipality becomes more known for adventure and nature holidays. A recreational area known as Pino La Jaba will also be created as a rest area for hikers.
