Arrests for spate of robberies
Police believe two men disturbed whilst trying to rob a villa in La Orotava were responsible for a spate of crimes in the area.
The burglars broke into the property after scaling a security wall and forcing a window. They tried to escape when the owners returned home but were later caught by the Civil Guard.
Items stolen included jewellery and computer equipment worth 7,280 euros. Everything was re-covered except for the laptops.
The two men, both from Puerto de la Cruz, had in their possession various foreign currency, including US dollars, Chinese notes, Italian lira and old pesetas.
Police are linking them to various robberies over the last two months in La Orotava.
