More flights for Lanzarote
Tourism chiefs in Lanzarote say they are delighted Ryanair is putting more faith in the island.
The low-cost airline has announced details of its winter 2013 programme which includes a new connection to Paris and an expanded service to the German cities of Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Routes to Santander and to Manchester and Bournemouth are also to be continued after the summer.
It means that Ryanair will have a total of 25 routes for the coming winter, with a total of 60 frequencies each week. This represents an increase of 40% on winter 2012.
Chief officer of the Society of Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández said they were pleased the airline had responded to an increasing demand, particularly connectivity with other island destinations.
Tourism spokesman for the Cabildo, Luis Arráez said the announcement was “great news” for Lanzarote as it would also help with its competitiveness in the holiday market.
